3D CAD Files

Here are some 3D design files mostly relevant to the PDP-8. These should mostly be printable with common 3D printing services like Shapeways, etc. Be advised that some of the STL files are in inches, not mm.

Use the link in the page footer to let me know if there are issues with these files.

In no particular order:

An 11/70 style switch lever.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
I don't actually have a machine, but they seem to operate like the originals.
This is a clip meant to mount the later revision 8/A Programmer's panel.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
(You'll need one each with left and right divots drilled and tapped.) Experimental: Although I think it's close, it hasn't been printed and tested.

This is a model of the bar that positions and protects the 8/E/F/M lamps.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
It also isolates the individual light sources. Experimental: While I think it's close, it hasn't been printed and proven yet.
A PDP-8/I style switch lever.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
These are also used for peripherals (TU56, TU10, etc).

A card guide for an 8/A chassis.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
I think these may also be suitable for 11/34 and similar machines. Status: Finished. These are flimsy like the originals, but seem to work.
A new card guide for an 8/A chassis.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
I think these may also be suitable for 11/34 and similar machines. Status: Experimental.

A pair of card guide for an 8/A chassis.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
I think these may also be suitable for 11/34 and similar machines. Status: Finished. These are flimsy like the originals, but seem to work.
A flip-chip module handle.

An experimental H-850 card extender.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
I haven't had any of these printed yet.
A carrier for a 14 pin DIP.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
Status: Finished.

A carrier for a 16 pin DIP.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
Status: Finished.
An experimental Nova 3 switch lever.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
These still have some fit issues.

This is a box designed to house the RasPi 0W and the Flip-Chip tester.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
It is finished and works well.
This is a guide frame to center the flip-chip module in the tester's socket.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
This is for use with the slightly over-wide sockets. It works OK, though I'm not enterely happy with the over-wide sockets or this work-around.

This is a guide frame to center the flip-chip module in the tester's socket.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
This is for use with the slightly over-wide sockets. This version is upside down so that the support prints on the outside. It works OK, though I'm not enterely happy with the over-wide sockets or this work-around.
This is the frame for a 6u rack cover panel.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
Experimental.

This is the frame for a 6u rack cover panel.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
It's broken into a two piece kit to make it easier to print. Experimental.
The LED guide block for the Life board from Spare Time Gizmos.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
I have not printed this.

The computer end of a DEC current loop cable.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
(This end has the female sockets/pins inside.) I have printed these sucessfully.
The terminal end of a DEC current loop cable.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
(This end has the male pins inside.) I have printed these sucessfully.

This is the tubing coupler inside an RK05.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
This was made of (and should be printed in) some rubbery substance. Experimental.
An RL02 "drive 0" indicator.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
Print the indicators in something translucent (nylon), as they will have lights behind them.

An RL02 "drive 1" indicator.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
An RL02 "drive 2" indicator.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)

An RL02 "drive 3" indicator.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)

I also have drawings for "4" through "7", if you've got an RK06/RK07.
The switch toggle used on most models of PDP-8.

STL file (Imperial)
STL file (Metric)
Sketchup file
This is based on some earlier work by phooky.

Thin trim panel bracket with barbs.
